J. P. Miller (1913-2004) illustrated dozens of Golden Books beginning in the late 1940s, such as "The House That Jack Built" and "Puss in Boots." Some titles, such as "The Sweet Smell of Christmas, " have never been out-of-print. Before becoming a children's book illustrator, Miller had worked as an animator during the early years of the Walt Disney Studio. He helped create the now-iconic characters for the films "Pinocchio," "Fantasia," and "Dumbo."
