customer service as every branch of our conventional retail outlets, plus
special on-line bargains and competitions. The advantage of our online service
is that we never close, and you can shop for your favourite books from home.
The first time you visit www.collinsbooks.com.au and want to order a book, we
create your Customer Account. You enter your personal information (name, address, phone,
email address.) only once and then every time you return to the site to make a
purchase, all you have to do is enter your account name and password. We retrieve all
your personal information from our database. For safety reasons, you must enter credit
card information each time you visit.

How to Order
As you browse through our store, if you can see an item you
wish to buy, click directly on the adjacent blue "buy" button
and the item will be added to your personal shopping bag. You then have
the choice of continuing to browse (click on Continue Shopping) or
proceeding straight to the check-out. If you change your mind about anything in
your shopping bag, you can simply remove it at any time prior to check-out, just
like a normal store.
While you are shopping you can review your purchases at any time by clicking
on View Your Bag.
Once you have finished shopping, proceed through to our checkout. You will be
offered a choice of payment options. Secure Socket Layer encryption ensures a safe
shopping environment, so if you are happy to enter your credit card details on-line
click on Secure Order. You will then be asked to complete your address details and
to indicate whether you would like your purchase gift wrapped and sent with a
special message. At this stage, you will still have the opportunity to cancel your
order or to continue to the final payment part of the check-out procedure.
Please note that for gift wrapping, a charge of $3.00 per title is charged.
When you continue you will see an Order Summary on your screen giving you the full
details of your order and indicating the shipping charges which we have added now we
know where your parcel is to be sent. If you are happy with all the details set out
in this order summary you should click on Complete Order button to continue. Your order
will then be assigned an order number that you should retain for your records.

Gift Certificates
To send a gift certificate by email, simply click on the
gift certificates icon on the right hand side of the home page.
If you purchased a gift certificate through www.giftvouchers.com, please email us at

Postage/Packing Rates
As explained above, postage and packing are charged
in addition to the retail total of your order once we know where your parcel is
to be sent. Postage/packing rates are displayed whenever you browse a title – simply
click on the “View Shipping Options and Rates” button.
Orders are shipped via Australia Post Parcel Post within Australia and by Australia
Post Economy Air for overseas, unless express shipping arrangements are made.

Availability and Shipping
Normal shipping times are displayed against every title and
can vary per title because titles are procured from various sources. Shipping times displayed
can vary where an order contains multiple items. If your order includes multiple items,
we will endeavour to ship to you in one consignment but in order to expedite shipping to
you, multiple orders may be shipped in parts. Where this occurs, you will not be
charged additional shipping charges.
It is common practice that when Australia Post delivers to your home, if you happen to
be out they will leave you a note informing you of pick-up details from the nearest
post office. This happens because there are so many things that can happen to a package
left outside - the weather can affect it or it could be stolen etc. For this reason you may wish
to consider having your order sent to your work address.
Please note that availability may be affected by publisher supplies and cannot be
guaranteed. Bulk orders of 5 or more for an individual title are subject to confirmation.
We regret that orders placed on-line cannot be collected from Collins Booksellers branches.
All on-line orders will be despatched as soon as possible to your nominated delivery address.

Checking the Progress of Your Order
Immediately upon receiving your order
we will e-mail you an acknowledgement confirming that your order has been received
and is in process. Finally, you will be advised when your order has been despatched.
At any time after placing your order, you can visit collinsbooks.com.au and click on
My Order Status to view the latest update.

Cancelling Orders
If it is necessary to cancel an order, you can do so
as long as it is prior to receiving our notification that the order has been
despatched.

Price and Availability
All orders are subject to price and availability confirmation. If prices change, we will contact you prior to finalization of your order. Your credit card will not be charged until your order is shipped.

Payment by Cheque
We happily accept cheques if you prefer this means of
payment. However please be aware that books will not be despatched until cheques
have been received and cleared which may take several days. Your cheque for the total
amount of your order (including postage) should be made payable to Collins

Returns
You may return books that remain in mint condition within
two weeks of receipt. Books with CD-ROMS or disks CANNOT be returned once the
seals on these items have been broken. Purchases from collinsbooks.com.au must only
be returned to the address below, not to our retail branches. Please ensure books
are well packed to prevent damage - preferably in the original packaging and
that the original packing slip is enclosed. Please address your package to:

original postage/packing charges will be deducted from the refund unless we,
