Do you want a good divorce?
It is possible!
How to have a good divorce and a great life afterwards!
A Short Guide to a Happy Divorce by acclaimed author Michael Lister
Divorce is often difficult, even traumatic—more so than the death of a spouse sometimes, but it doesn’t have to be, or doesn’t have to stay that way. We don’t have to get stuck in the more negative aspects of uncoupling, that downward spiral of defeatism that lands us in despondency and despair.
The happiness I refer to is neither shallow nor easy. It’s an earned, deep abiding joy that remains because of a certain approach, an honoring of an honorable process.
What I’m offering here is not easy or automatic, but the result of noble intentions, strong resolve, and a heroic commitment to living in love by embracing what is, processing pain, and practicing true care—of ourselves, our partners, and especially our children.
Divorce doesn’t have to be death. It doesn’t even have to be an end. If approached the right way it can be a transition—one filled with opportunity and hope. Nothing is permanent. All of life—and relationships—are in perpetual states of transition and transformation. Divorce can be experienced this same way.
Not only does divorce not have to be an end—even of the relationship itself—but it also can most certainly be a beginning. A new beginning filled with incredible and heretofore unimagined possibilities and opportunities.
Divorce doesn’t have to be bad.
Divorce can be good.
A marriage that ends in divorce isn’t necessarily a failure. A marriage that doesn’t end in divorce isn’t necessarily a success.
A good divorce is possible.
You can have one.
