The Nightmare

He knows your darkest dreams. Then he makes them come true. On a summer night the body of a woman is found on board an abandoned pleasure boat drifting around the Stockholm archipelago. Her lungs are filled with water, but her clothes are completely dry. Detective Inspector Joona Linna takes up the case. Forensics state that it was an unfortunate accident and that her body must have been pulled aboard. But Joona knows better and suspects something much more sinister. The next day a man is found dead in his apartment, hanging from a lamp hook in the ceiling. How did it happen? The room has a high ceiling with no furniture and absolutely nothing to climb on. Nevertheless, Linna is convinced that it is suicide and so begins an investigation full of dizzyingly intense and dangerous events.
