European Warfare, 1815-2000

The vibrancy of the "new military history" and its focus on the context and implications of warfare have reclaimed this field from dry theory. War, and its impact on society, is increasingly studied at undergraduate level. Following on from the critical success of his edited volume "European Warfare 1453-1815, Jeremy Black has assembled a team of historians to tackle the phenomena of European warfare in modern times, covering every major conflict and technological development in its social, political and cultural context.
